The police are conducting an investigation into remote fraud, the victim of which was a 24-year-old resident of Magadan. She lost 2.7 million rubles.

According to the victim, she received a call from a stranger who introduced himself as an employee of the tax service. He stated that the head of Magadanka allegedly provided incorrect information, which is why the woman needs to personally visit the office to clarify the data. To make an appointment, he demanded to dictate the code from an SMS message, writes IA MagadanMedia.

After that, the victim was contacted by "bank employees". They convinced the woman that fraudsters had hacked her personal account on the Gosuslugi portal to apply for loans. Magadanka agreed to transfer 2.7 million rubles to a "secure" account.

A criminal case has been opened on this fact.

In the Tula region, police detained a courier of telephone fraudsters who took more than 2.6 million rubles from three pensioners. The young man had to transfer the money to other accounts, keeping the reward for himself.
