The Russian Foreign Ministry called the deployment of the Western military in Ukraine unacceptable.

The deployment of Western military personnel in Ukraine is unacceptable for Russia under any circumstances. This was announced on December 18 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"The deployment of Western troops on the territory of Ukraine under any guise and in any format remains unacceptable to us," the diplomat said during a briefing.

Zakharova also recalled that if troops are deployed, they will become legitimate targets for the Russian army.

On December 16, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that representatives of the countries that make up the so-called coalition of the willing had prepared a plan to deploy their troops in Ukraine.
