The Court of Cassation upheld the verdict of director Petrukhin.

The Second Court of Cassation rejected the complaint of film director Alexei Petrukhin in the case of attempted mediation in bribery. This was announced on December 18 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

Speaking in court, the director asked to replace the real term with a suspended one and reduce the fine, citing cooperation with the investigation and his public activities. However, the court rejected the complaint.

In April, the Dorogomilovsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Petrukhin to four years in a high-security penal colony in this case.

Common grounds: criminal cases will be initiated against five Rostov judges

They are suspected of taking bribes and imposing unjust sentences.

In September last year, the Cinema Foundation filed two lawsuits against the Russian Film Group film company, headed by Petrukhin, for more than 220 million rubles and 90 million rubles, respectively. The lawsuits were related to non—fulfillment of obligations for two films - "The Secret of the Dragon Seal" and "On the Threshold of Immortality: a Journey to India."
