The Parliament of Pridnestrovie has resumed the operation of the economic emergency regime for 30 days due to a gas shortage. This is stated on December 18 in the resolution of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR).

"The decree establishes a number of emergency measures for the period of operation of the CEP. <...> The Government of the PMR has been instructed to develop and approve a plan of measures that should reduce the risk to the livelihoods of the population and the state," the council's Telegram channel says.

This is the third time that the Pridnestrovian CAP regime has been introduced.

On October 9, deputy of the Supreme Council of the PMR Andrei Safonov, in an interview with Izvestia, noted that Moldova wants to subjugate Pridnestrovie by undermining the economy of the unrecognized republic.

The state of emergency in the economy of Transnistria operated from October 2022 to April 2023, after which it was introduced in December 2024 until August 31 of this year. In August, the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovie approved the extension of the state of emergency in the economy until the end of the month. Then, in October, Pridnestrovian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Obolonik announced the resumption of the CEP until the middle of the month in the republic.
