Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated employees of the capital's registry offices on their professional holiday, which is celebrated on December 18. In his MACH channel, he noted that over 108 years of service in Moscow, a new high standard of wedding organization has been formed — "warm, modern, with attention to detail."

The mayor stressed that the professionalism of the registry office staff, their attention to detail, and their desire to create an atmosphere of solemnity and family warmth "make every wedding ceremony in Moscow special and unique." "Thanks to their work, traditions are being preserved and new family stories are being created," Sobyanin wrote. He thanked them "for their reverent attitude towards each couple" and wished them health, good luck and well-being.

Sobyanin recalled that the New Addresses of Happiness project is operating in Moscow, which helps couples to hold a wedding ceremony in one of the more than 30 iconic places in the city. Since 2019, 75,000 families have been created on such sites, Sobyanin said. In 2026, it is planned to expand the list of venues, for example, newlyweds will be able to register their marriage at the GUM Cinema.

Our Wedding service, which has been used more than 1.3 million times in two years, also helps to organize a celebration in Moscow. With its help, couples can choose a venue according to the parameters, taking into account the style, date, number of guests and other criteria.
