There are just over a day left before the direct line with Russian President Vladimir Putin — the program will begin on December 19 at 12:00 Moscow time. Work has already begun on some of the problems that require urgent solutions. Kirill Solodkov, a correspondent for Izvestia, told about the work of the direct Line call center on December 18.

Almost 2 million questions and specific problems were received on the direct line. In the call center of the Popular Front (ONF), personal stories are turned into the agenda of the main conversation with the president of the country. The volunteers don't just record the requests — they are immediately put into operation here.

So, residents of Yekaterinburg complained about the closure of the only perinatal center in the area. Now you have to seek help from dozens of kilometers away.

"There used to be a check-out room here, there is parking for the stork, there is such an announcement. Accordingly, many happy stories begin here when new people appear, residents of the city of Yekaterinburg. Now, as you can see, everything is closed, as if there is no life here at all," complained a local resident.

In the Yaroslavl region, residents pointed out a problem with water quality that the local authorities have not solved for many years.

"Sediment, sand, just sand. Cattle probably won't drink this kind of water, but we drink it. They turned to everyone," complained local resident Lyubov Ukhtomova.

The editors of the program "Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin" accelerate the solution of problems — they respond to the most painful questions without delay.

"Several signals were received from St. Petersburg and Kemerovo at once. Residents are paying attention to the lack of preferential medicines, vital medicines," said Oksana Kamenetskaya, head of the ONF Executive Committee in the Yaroslavl region.

Medicine, education, benefits, scholarships — the topics of incoming questions are very different, from foreign policy to everyday life. Residents of small villages across the country complain about the unavailability of banking services.

"Despite global digitalization, the most popular way of contacting is still a phone call. Although all questions are guaranteed to go to work, the voice of a live operator, not a robot, inspires maximum confidence," the correspondent noted.

Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Krasnodar Krai became the leaders in activity in front of the direct line. A new call is received every three seconds. The operators handling the requests described how they cope with the heavy workload.

"We have a psychologist's office. This is for operators, for everyone who works on a direct line. In our free time, we can contact and work out some points if there were difficult calls," explained ONF call center operator Egor Shestakov.

According to statistics, the direct line is mainly used by women over the age of 55, but there are also other categories of citizens.

"We have young people from 14 to 35, sometimes younger guys call. Literally elementary school students, they are seriously calling, contacting, and these are already conscious citizens of our country," added Savely Radomsky, the operator of the ONF call center.

It is noted that young people under the age of 18 most often ask questions about information technology. Citizens from 18 to 35 years old in most cases are interested in solving the housing issue.

Veterans of the Special Military Operation (SVO) are helping to process calls to volunteers, as they did last year. For many, this work has become a new stage of rehabilitation.

The head of the Popular Front of the Republic of Khakassia, Ksenia Buganova, told Izvestia on December 17 that Russians most often call the call center for receiving and processing appeals for subsequent participation in a direct line with Putin to resolve social issues. According to her, the call center staff received many requests to deal with the installation of ATMs in their small settlements, which are either missing or not at all.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on December 17 that work on the questions received during the direct line has been underway throughout the year. A day earlier, he said that the media also has the opportunity to ask Putin a question.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
