The FSB detained a resident of the Chelyabinsk region in a case of treason

Employees of the Russian FSB directorate for the Chelyabinsk Region detained a local resident on suspicion of collecting information about the region's transport infrastructure in the interests of Ukraine. This was announced on December 18 by the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the region.

"The FSB of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region has detained a resident of the region, born in 1979, recruited by the Ukrainian special services via the Internet and suspected of treason...> The person involved has been arrested," the department said.

According to the press service, the citizen collaborated with a representative of a Ukrainian paramilitary association banned in Russia. On their instructions, he conducted reconnaissance of the region's transport infrastructure and provided information on the movement of railway trains with military equipment.

On December 17, the FSB's Public Relations Center reported on the detention in Sochi of a father and daughter who were collecting information about the Russian army and who planned to take part in the Ukrainian conflict on the side of Kiev. To do this, they were going to join the Ukrainian paramilitary force.
