A college student was detained on suspicion of an attempted terrorist attack in Volgodonsk.

In Volgodonsk, employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) detained a student on suspicion of attempted terrorist attack. This was reported on December 18 in the press service of the FSB of Russia.

It is specified that the terrorist attack was being prepared by the special services of Ukraine in Volgodonsk in a place of mass gathering of people.

"At 12:30 p.m., a Russian citizen born in 2009, a student of one of the regional colleges, who was heading to the city administration building with a heavy backpack, was detained by a police patrol in the center of Volgodonsk, in the area of Yunost Park, for verification," RIA Novosti reported.

It was found that the student's backpack contained an improvised explosive device with a capacity of about 10 kg of TNT, with damaging elements in the form of screws, nuts and nails, equipped with an electronic time relay.
