The senator told how Russians can increase their pension more than twice: to do this, you need to reach it 10 years after the retirement age. This was announced on December 18 by the head of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, Elena Perminova.

"In case of postponement of retirement for 10 years, the CPI (individual pension coefficient) will be indexed. — Ed.) by 2.32 times, and the fixed part — by 2.11 times. Additional points will be awarded during this period," the senator said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Perminova clarified that 10 years is the maximum possible time to postpone retirement. At the same time, according to the senator, working pensioners can also temporarily waive their insurance pension for at least a year. The senator recalled that in order to suspend or recalculate a pension, it is necessary to apply to the territorial body of the Pension Fund of Russia (PFR) or the multifunctional center (MFC).

The cost of one pension coefficient will also be increased.

Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, said that in 2026, pensioners will be able to increase the amount of payments due to additional payments for disabled dependents and other allowances provided for by pension legislation. According to the parliamentarian, an increase in the fixed payment to the old-age and disability insurance pension is provided for pensioners who depend on disabled family members.
