The ministry clarified that by the end of 2025, the unmanned technology will start working on the Vityaz-Moscow three-section tram, which will go on trial trips for subsequent preparation for passenger transportation. Currently, specialists from the Center for Research and Development of Unmanned Vehicles are installing lidars, cameras and radars in the car, as well as checking the operation of all systems, the Moscow City News Agency reports.
Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry, said that in September 2025, Russia's first fully unmanned tram, the Lion Cub-Moscow, began operating in the capital, which has already transported more than 45,000 passengers, Moscow 24 writes.
