New Year's festivities in the spirit of Moscow Rus will be held in the center of Moscow

On December 23, New Year's Eve festivities in the spirit of Moscow Rus will take place in Starokonyushenny Lane of the capital, the press service of the prefecture of the Central Administrative District of Moscow reported. The program, organized by the Arbat District Council, is designed for adults and children of all ages.

The outdoor playground will host both entertainment and educational events aimed at exploring the history and culture of the capital, the prefecture noted. Arbat visitors will be treated to delicious Russian pancakes and bagels, which will be prepared according to ancient recipes based on boiling water, using buckwheat and wheat flour. Wood-burning samovars with different types of herbal tea will be installed on the street.

Moscow tunes and puppet theater
The Rusy collective will perform court compositions and folk melodies from the musical culture of the XVI-XVII centuries. The artists will perform in bright costumes and organize round dances. The puppet theater "Once upon a Time" will show adapted fairy tales and stories reflecting the culture and way of life of the XVI century. The repertoire includes the fairy tales "The Dog and the Fox", "Tops and Roots", "The Man and the Hare".

Workshops on making Christmas tree toys will be held for children on the playground. They will decorate Christmas trees in the courtyards of the Central Administrative District. There will also be winter folk amusements for children: snowball fights, valenki throwing, small towns and a ring throw. The program is designed for visitors from three years old.
