The fir tree was decorated with toys in white, blue and red tones, as well as garlands and shiny bows. The top of the tree is decorated with a traditional red star.

On December 12, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko took part in the annual Christmas Tree of Wishes charity event. Speaking as a representative from St. Petersburg, Matvienko took four balloons with wishes of children from the city from the Christmas tree. She will fulfill the dream of four children living in different parts of Russia.
