Moscow's position on the deployment of foreign military contingents in Ukraine is consistent and well-known. This was announced on December 17 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing.

"Our position on foreign military contingents in Ukraine is well known. It was formulated both by the President and at other working levels. It is absolutely consistent and understandable," he said, answering a question about the permissibility of the option proposed by the so—called "coalition of the willing."

At the same time, Peskov stressed that the Russian side does not intend to discuss specific topics or settlement points through the press, including this issue, adding that it is a subject for discussion, while not revealing details of Moscow's possible reaction to such steps.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said yesterday that members of the "coalition of the willing" had prepared a plan to deploy their troops in Ukraine. According to him, representatives of the military departments worked on the development of such a measure, which, as the politician explained, were instructed to develop a strategy for defense in the air, at sea and on land, as well as ways to increase their own capabilities in Ukraine.

Prior to that, on October 14, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik said that a foreign military contingent in Ukraine would be considered a legitimate target for the Russian Armed Forces.
