Trams, buses and metro trains decorated for the New Year began to run along the routes of the capital, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"We are continuing a good tradition. We decorate city transport on the eve of the New Year according to the task of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Trains, buses, electric buses, trams and electric vessels, as well as metro stations and other infrastructure facilities have been decorated. Decorated transport creates a festive atmosphere and gives a good mood to Muscovites and guests of the capital," Liksutov said.

So, on the new tram route No. 5 along Trifonovskaya Street, which was launched earlier by Sobyanin, the tram "Lion Cub-Moscow" with bright garlands came out. In total, 24 themed metro trains, 50 electric buses, 60 Vityaz-Moscow trams and 2 Lvenok-Moscow trams with glowing garlands and 115 buses in New Year's paper can be ridden in the city. The Tatra New Year's tram on route A, the Vityaz-Moscow festive tram with coniferous garlands in the cabin and six innovative electric vessels decorated on the occasion of the New Year also run in the capital.

Festive decor can also be found at transport infrastructure facilities: more than 100 metro stations, Northern and Southern River stations and 10 berths of regular river electric transport are decorated in New Year's themes.

Earlier, Sobyanin noted that now it is especially important to decorate Moscow for the holiday. "People should be in a good mood — they should move, they go to visit, tourism should develop," he stressed.
