- Belousov said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are increasing attacks by UAVs and missiles deep into the Russian Federation.
Russia needs to increase the production of Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems to effectively counter long-range drones and cruise missiles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced on December 17 by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at an expanded meeting of the board of the military department.
"It is necessary to continue equipping the air defense and missile defense lines with effective means of detecting and defeating long-range drones and cruise missiles. First of all, this concerns Pantsir combat vehicles and other short— and medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems," the Defense Minister stressed.
Belousov pointed out that one of the key features of modern warfare was the enemy's increasing scale of strikes using drones and cruise missiles deep into Russian territory. In response to these challenges, according to the minister, it is necessary to strengthen the air defense system, including by increasing the supply of highly efficient short-range complexes.
Belousov held a regular meeting with military correspondents on December 13, during which the development of unmanned systems and modernization of weapons were discussed. During the event, issues of logistical support for units in the area of a special military operation (SVO), food supplies for military personnel of groups of troops, including assault units, as well as the need for troops in new individual food rations designed for delivery by FPV drones were discussed.
