Figure skater Adelia Petrosyan regained her triple axel on the eve of the 2026 Russian Championship. A video of the jump performance was posted on Instagram on December 17 (owned by Meta, a company recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) by her coach Eteri Tutberidze.

It is noted that in the current 2025/2026 season, the figure skater has never performed a triple axel in competitions. Petrosyan is a two-time champion of Russia.

The Russian Championship 2026 will be held in St. Petersburg from December 18 to December 21. At the tournament, Russian athletes will be able to win only four sets of awards: in women's singles, men's singles, pair skating and ice dancing.

On December 1, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that Petrosyan and her colleague Peter Humennik had accepted an invitation to participate in the 2026 Olympic Games in a neutral status.
