Roskomnadzor allowed Roblox to be unblocked

The Roblox gaming platform is ready to comply with the requirements of Russian legislation on the protection of children on the Internet. This was announced by Roskomnadzor on December 17 after receiving an official request from the company's management.

"Now the platform recognizes that it did not sufficiently ensure both the moderation of content in games and the security of chats between users," the agency's website noted.

Roskomnadzor stressed that they would cooperate with Roblox only if they took practical steps to protect children. If the requirements are met, access to the platform can be restored.

Representatives of Roblox confirmed their readiness to temporarily disable communication services in Russia in order to resume gaming functions, as well as to review the moderation system.

After the closure of one of the most scandalous "sandboxes", the popularity of its analogues has grown.

Earlier that day, Roblox informed TASS that it was ready to temporarily restrict its communications services in Russia in order to restore user access to the game. They also clarified that the company is currently in dialogue with the RCN and intends to continue it as access to the platform is restored, including discussing additional measures to comply with the necessary requirements.

On December 3, Roskomnadzor restricted access to Roblox in Russia.
