You should not believe those who present themselves as a civil servant or bank employee in foreign messengers. This was announced on December 17 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a strategic session on combating cyberbullying.

The Prime Minister noted the joint work of the Government of the Russian Federation with the Central Bank (CB) and law enforcement agencies on countering cyberbullying.

"We are creating conditions for people to understand that if they try to contact them through such a messenger, they introduce themselves as an employee of, for example, a bank, or from law enforcement agencies, or from a polyclinic, they cannot be trusted," he said.

According to Mishustin, there is now a decrease in the number of digital crimes in the country. He called for continued work in this direction.

"In 10 months, their total number decreased by 9.5% compared to the same period in 2024. And if we compare October to October, the drop is already almost a quarter," the Prime Minister added.

The day before, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that the most common methods of deception used by fraudsters in 2025 are the threat of criminal prosecution for allegedly financing terrorism and offering quick earnings. The top 5 methods also include fictitious notifications about inspections of engineering systems, threats of accidents, tax debts and errors in declarations.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
