In Moscow, 24% of the monthly precipitation rate has fallen since the beginning of December, and the month will end with a shortage of precipitation. Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a knowledgeable specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, reported this in her Telegram channel on Wednesday, December 17.

"12.5 mm of precipitation has fallen since the beginning of the month, or only 24% of the norm. Snow cover was forming, but sparsely, its height in the capital did not exceed 3 cm. All hope is for the last decade, when it gets colder, but the month will still end with a shortage of precipitation," the Moscow City News agency quoted the forecaster as saying.

Earlier in the day, Evgeny Tishkovets, a forecaster and a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, said that snowfall and frost could return to Moscow before the New Year, starting on December 23. 360.ru .

The Hydrometeorological Center predicted cloudy weather, light precipitation in some places (mostly rain), and ice in some places in the metropolitan region on December 17.
