Belousov announced the creation of the Russian Armed Forces security zone in the border area of Ukraine

The threat of invasion in the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions has been reduced by creating a security zone in the Ukrainian border regions. This was announced on December 17 by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at the final board meeting of the department.

"The North group of troops: the large border town of Volchansk has been liberated and the creation of a security zone in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions continues. As a result, the threat of enemy invasion in the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions has been reduced," he said.
