The State Duma approved an increase in fines for violating the transportation of children in cars

On December 17, the State Duma approved in the second and third readings a bill strengthening responsibility for the transportation of children established by the rules of the road. The document is published in the electronic database of bills of the State Duma.

Now the fine for transporting a child without a child safety seat will increase for individuals from three to five thousand rubles. For officials, it will double from 25 thousand rubles to 50 thousand rubles. Legal entities will be punished even more severely, they will have to pay 200 thousand rubles instead of 100 thousand rubles, as it was before.

The bill clarifies that drivers who carry out business activities without forming a legal entity will pay a fine as for legal entities. Self-employed taxi drivers will be punished as officials. The relevant law in the first reading was adopted by the State Duma on September 16.

You can not be fined for driving: exceptions may be made for child seats

They plan to release drivers from liability if it is impossible to transport a child according to the rules.

Rosstandart imposed fines on sellers of surrogate child restraints, including the so-called triangles for seat belts. As specified on September 12, since the beginning of the year, Russians have purchased 120,000 child restraint surrogates worth 56 million rubles. Rosstandart has already imposed fines on sellers of such devices.

Straps, flexible elements with buckles, adapters, fasteners, seat belt pads and other similar items are not child restraint systems and cannot be used to ensure the safety of children. The use of surrogate devices poses a direct threat to the life and health of children in an accident, Roskachestvo recalled.
