The city taxi fleet in Blagoveshchensk will be switched to gas by May 2026
In Blagoveshchensk, the fleet of gas-powered taxis has almost doubled, from 25 to 50 units. The authorities are working to improve the environmental friendliness of urban transport.
24 new cars have been delivered to the city, and they are currently being registered. By December 22, the first ten cars will be ready for operation: they will be branded, insured, and equipped with GPS trackers and DVRs. Starting next week, drivers will start accepting orders.
The new taxis will gradually switch to gas fuel, and the conversion is scheduled to be completed by May 2026. At the time of preparation, cars will be withdrawn from the fleet, but vehicles will remain to be replaced, writes IA PriamurMedia with reference to the city administration.
In 2026, the regional authorities will allocate funds for the purchase of 25 more taxis for Blagoveshchensk.
Earlier, on December 16, it was reported that taxi localization requirements will be postponed until 2028-2030 for Siberia, Kaliningrad Region and new regions of Russia. This follows from the amendments to the taxi law adopted by the State Duma in the second reading. The deputies are confident that such a step will allow small businesses to seamlessly switch to new domestic-made vehicles. For other regions, approximately 25% of the total number of foreign cars registered in the registry will be allowed to use in taxis. However, only individuals with self-employed status will be allowed to ride them.
