A court in Moscow has banned resources promoting hooking

The Cheryomushkinsky district Court of Moscow banned resources with propaganda of zatching. This is stated in the case file, which was reviewed by Izvestia on December 17.

We are talking about Telegram channels and other platforms where information was posted aimed at forming a positive attitude towards a dangerous hobby. There were also published instructions for hooks and thematic videos.

All materials were publicly available. The resolution emphasizes that the posting of such information is illegal and capable of destabilizing public safety.

The Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Moscow Region, Ksenia Mishonova, said on October 9 that hooking in Russia should be equated with an extremist movement. She clarified that since the beginning of 2025, 28 such incidents have been recorded in the Moscow region, in which 11 children aged 11 to 17 died.
