A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Military personnel of the North group of forces defeated formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the National Guard in the areas of settlements in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The enemy lost up to 160 people, an armored combat vehicle, 12 vehicles and an electronic warfare (EW) station.

Units of the Zapad group of forces defeated the enemy's manpower and equipment in the areas of settlements in the Kharkiv region and the DPR. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 230 soldiers, three American HMMWV armored fighting vehicles, 15 vehicles, three artillery pieces, including a 155-mm M777 howitzer and a 155-mm M114 howitzer made in the United States, an electronic reconnaissance station and five ammunition depots.

The southern group of troops occupied more advantageous positions and frontiers, and also defeated Ukrainian formations in a number of settlements in the DPR. The enemy lost more than 200 militants, 18 vehicles, two artillery pieces, two electronic warfare stations and four ammunition and fuel depots.

The Center group of troops continued to destroy the encircled enemy group in Dimitrov, and the cleansing of the settlements of Rodinskoye, Svetloye and Grishino of the DPR is also continuing. The enemy's losses amounted to over 470 people, two HMMWV armored fighting vehicles, six vehicles and four field artillery guns, including two Western-made ones.

The military personnel of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depths of the enemy's defenses and liberated the village of Gerasimovka, Dnipropetrovsk region. The enemy was also defeated in a number of settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 235 soldiers, two tanks, an armored personnel carrier, three HMMWV armored fighting vehicles, nine vehicles and three field artillery pieces, including a 155 mm American M777 howitzer.

Units of the Dnepr group of forces defeated formations of the mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of Razumovka, Novoyakovlevka, Zaporizhia region and Nikolskoye, Kherson region. Up to 45 Ukrainian servicemen, 11 vehicles, a 155-mm Bogdana self-propelled artillery installation, two ammunition depots and two material depots were destroyed.

Operational-tactical aircraft, strike unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated the assembly and testing center for unmanned boats of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, transport infrastructure facilities involved in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assembly shops for long-range attack unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary locations of the Ukrainian armed forces armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 143 districts.

180 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

The Russian Armed Forces are grinding Kiev's defenses in key areas that open the way to Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, experts say.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 669 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 103542 unmanned aerial vehicles, 640 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26574 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1633 multiple rocket launchers, 31973 field artillery and mortars, 49280 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
