More than 2 million people are involved in dropper activities in Russia. This was announced on December 17 by Andrei Lugovoy, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption.

"According to my data, more than 2 million people [are involved in dropping] <...> The catastrophic problem is that the number of drops is not decreasing," Lugovoy said in an interview with TASS.

According to him, drops are a "criminal tool" in the hands of illegal business organizers, terrorists, extremists, drug traffickers, as well as those who finance foreign agents.

He noted that drops are constantly changing their algorithms of action in order to avoid the restrictions created by the state and the banking system as a whole, therefore, only an integrated approach involving legislative and executive authorities, law enforcement agencies, Rosfinmonitoring and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation will help in combating them.

Earlier, on December 11, expert Veronika Polyakova warned about the risks of transfers to sellers' personal cards. According to her, a bank statement for such an operation may raise questions from law enforcement agencies.
