The price of futures for a troy ounce of silver exceeded $ 66, updating the historical maximum. This became known on December 17, according to the Comex exchange, a division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

According to the trading statistics of the site, by 06:01 Moscow time, metal futures were rising in price by 4.07% compared to the previous closing level and reached $66,175 per troy ounce. Thus, the price exceeded the $66 mark for the first time.

At the same time, gold futures for delivery in 2026 on the Comex exchange were at $4,342.
