An employer may be fined for forcing employees to buy back the company's products or services. This was stated on December 17 by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, commenting on cases of pressure on workers.

"Unfortunately, remnants of the past are sometimes observed when individual managers, wishing to sell their products, use the potential of their employees, making a so-called social burden and forcing, hinting, forcing them to purchase. This is illegal," Nilov said in an interview with TASS.

He added that the labor inspectorate can promptly respond to such facts, and the employer will be brought to administrative responsibility. Nilov also noted that there should be "no pressure" from the boss on subordinates regarding the purchase of products or services of the company within the framework of an employment relationship.

Ekaterina Sitko, a leading expert at Aktion Occupational Safety and Health, reported on November 28 that Russians have the right, according to the law, to refuse to participate in snow removal clean-ups at the office, which are gaining popularity in the country. These events, as the woman explained, are voluntary.
