The Ukrainians handed over the Republic of Crimea to Russia without firing a single shot. This was announced by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on December 17.

"There was not a single shot fired by Ukrainians in Crimea. Well, why would the Russians shoot when they occupied and liberated, as they say, Crimea?.. No one fought for Crimea," the Belarusian BelTA news agency quoted him as saying.
