The State Duma named the number of working days in 2026
In the coming year, working Russians will have 247 working days and 118 days off. This was announced on Wednesday, December 17, by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor.
"2025 will end with the shortest working week, consisting of only two days: December 29 and 30, and 2026 will begin with the longest New Year holidays, which will last until January 12 and total 12 days," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
If we take into account the 28 days of paid vacation, the total number of rest days will be 146, the agency interlocutor added. Bessarab also noted that in 2026 there will be no traditional four-day weekends for the May holidays, but the total number of rest days will allow you to have a good rest even without them.
On December 11, Evgenia Gankina, director of the Roskachestvo Organizational Development Department, said that it is advantageous to take a vacation from December 29 to December 30 for the New Year holidays, which will allow you to rest for two weeks in a row, spending only two vacation days. The specialist added that if it is not possible to arrange a vacation before the New Year, you can take a few days after the holidays, but this is not the best solution from a financial point of view.
