- The State Duma condemned the detention of Zenit head coach Semak and his wife in Germany
The detention of the head coach of Zenit football club Sergey Semak and his wife Anna at Munich airport is puzzling. This was announced on December 16 by Dmitry Svishchev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports.
"Today are difficult times, and everything related to Russian passports causes hatred and aggression among many European representatives who have imposed sanctions against us. <...> But, of course, we do not understand why we have to report to European customs officers," he said in an interview with the newspaper Sport—Express.".
According to him, in modern realities, citizens of the Russian Federation should carefully observe the established norms and restrictions.
On the same day, the wife of the Zenit coach, Anna, reported on the detention by German police officers. The woman clarified that they were forced to pay an impressive fine for buying a headscarf, a pair of shoes and glasses, which they were also forbidden to take with them. According to her, they went to Germany to resolve medical issues.
