The onset of magnetic storms on Earth may occur earlier than the forecast due to an increase in the speed of the solar wind. This was announced on December 16 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"The speed of the solar wind is growing quite quickly and somewhat unexpectedly," the laboratory's Telegram channel says.
