American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk has begun financing the Republican Party's election campaigns for the House of Representatives and the Senate ahead of the 2026 midterm elections in the United States. This was reported on December 16 by the Axios portal.

"Musk recently allocated large sums to help Republicans win congressional elections and made it clear that he is ready to provide additional support throughout the 2026 election cycle," the material says.

It is specified that the amounts of donations that Musk has allocated to Republicans will be made public in January. However, it is already becoming clear that this funding will become a fairly strong element of support for Republicans in the fight against the US Democratic Party for a leading role in Congress.

Musk predicted on December 3 that Vice President Jay Dee Vance would become the future president of the United States after the current head of the White House, Donald Trump. It was noted that this year the businessman has established strong personal ties with the vice president.

In June, the businessman criticized the draft budget proposed by the White House, calling it an abomination. Musk later publicly supported the idea of impeaching Trump. The president, in turn, wrote that terminating contracts with Musk is the easiest way to save money in the US budget. At the same time, Tesla shares fell sharply.
