Every fourth resident of Russia in 2025 works remotely, while the format of working from home directly affects not only the well-being of employees, but also their results. Alexey Raiman, Director of the NONTON Marketing Department, told Izvestia on December 21 how to set up a workspace.

According to him, for comfortable and productive work from home, it is important first of all to clearly separate the workplace and personal space. Even with a limited area of the apartment, it is psychologically necessary to separate the work area from everyday life. As a practical solution, the expert recommends using shelving units that simultaneously serve as a storage system and visually zone the room.

An insulated balcony or niche can also be adapted for a workplace. The main rule is that household items should not be visible at the desk, and working documents should not be visible in the recreation area.

"Furniture is an investment in your health and productivity. If your budget is limited, I recommend saving on decor, but not on a chair. An ergonomic chair with lumbar support and height adjustment is a must—have for those who spend more than three to four hours a day at the computer," explained Ryman.

So, when choosing a table, the depth of the work surface should be taken into account: 50-60 cm is enough for a laptop, and when using a stationary monitor and keyboard — from 70 cm. Transformer tables deserve special attention, allowing you to alternate work while sitting and standing, which reduces the load on your back.

The expert also drew attention to the effect of order on concentration. A cluttered desk creates visual noise and increases stress levels, so it's important to think about storage systems. Using shelves, pegboards, wall organizers, and mobile cabinets helps keep your workspace tidy.

In addition, the expert added, the organization of the workplace should take into account the specifics of the profession. Programmers and designers need more space for equipment and multiple monitors, copywriters need quiet and peaceful surroundings, bloggers need a neutral background and high—quality light. At the same time, the home office should not be impersonal: decorative elements, plants or personal items create emotional comfort, which directly affects motivation and efficiency.

"Lighting directly affects eye fatigue. One chandelier in the center of the room is not enough. A local light source (table lamp) is required, preferably with the ability to adjust the color temperature. Cold light sets you up for work, warm light relaxes you," Rayman said.

In addition, regular ventilation, maintaining a comfortable temperature between 21-23 degrees and humidifying the air, especially during the heating season, can reduce fatigue and maintain working capacity throughout the day.

HR Director of the consulting company "Together. On September 30, Dmitry Chernyshov, a practicing psychologist, told Izvestia the advantages of candidates without work experience. He noted that today the employer has to rely not on ready-made specialists, but on the potential of a person: companies raise employees "for themselves", forming individual tracks of professional and personal development. Learning becomes an integral part of the workflow through mentoring and internal self-development programs. Therefore, a graduate with no work experience is an ideal candidate for the company.
