Germany is developing plans to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia and is getting rid of various formats of bilateral cooperation with Russia. This was stated on December 13 by Ambassador to Berlin Sergey Nechaev in an interview with Apolut.

"The so—called change of epochs has led to the curtailment of political dialogue, the incitement of cave Russophobia, the imposition of tens of thousands of illegitimate sanctions against Russia, and the development of plans to inflict a "strategic defeat" on our country, including on the battlefield," the ambassador said.

He also announced the intentions of European politicians to use Russia's frozen assets "to continue the Ukrainian conflict." In his opinion, these actions are extremely dangerous and unprecedented.

The day before, former Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that the European Union (EU) was preparing for war with Russia and was trying to use Serbia for this purpose, pushing it to choose a side in the conflict. He made the corresponding statement in response to the call of the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, that it was "time for Serbia to choose a side."

The Euractiv portal reported on December 15 that seven EU states do not support the idea of confiscating Russian assets under sanctions. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on November 27 that the confiscation of Russian assets located in the European Union would have negative consequences. He also instructed the Russian government to develop a package of retaliatory measures.
