The sixth Russian-Chinese Media Forum has started in Beijing.
The prospects for cooperation between Russia and China in the media market are being discussed in Beijing, where the VI Media Forum has started. Industry leaders exchange experiences and summarize the results of projects that have already been recognized in both countries. Among other things, we are talking about the success of the film "Red Silk", shot with the participation of the National Media Group (NMG). The details were told by Izvestia correspondent Viktor Sineok.
"For the Chinese, it is important not only what, but also how. Therefore, they chose a special place for the plenary session. It's called the golden hall, and it actually looks like it," the correspondent said.
We trained for several days to do everything at the highest level. We straightened the lace on the chairs, conducted a training session on synchronously filling cups with tea. The sixth Russian—Chinese Media Forum is a matter of special importance for China. The leadership of the Communist Party of the country is at the event.
"We need to meet more often and discuss the issues that concern us. We have common views on challenges in the information sphere," said Yu Junsheng, Deputy head of the CPC Committee in Beijing and director of the Beijing Broadcasting Station.
And the heads of the leading media of the two countries. On the Chinese side, Xinhua, People's Daily, and the media corporation of China, on the Russian side, industry leaders.
"Today we live in a world of fakes, in a world of unreliable information, and the distortion of history, and it is very important that two such great powers, with such powerful and effective mass media, cooperate as much as possible in order to present an objective and real picture of history and peace to all modern humanity," he said. Svetlana Balanova, General Director of the National Media Group, emphasized.
A whole day of talking about the main thing for both Chinese and Russian participants of the media market. Challenges in the digital age and the work of new media — the countries have something to tell each other, despite the differences.
"It is always very crowded here and everywhere, and the roads are clogged with traffic, and the Chinese do not part with bicycles and mopeds even in winter. The food here is always incredible, and the portions are large, the architecture, cultural features, traditions — China is huge, colorful and incredibly interesting," the correspondent said.
Russian media are very active in China. The National Media Group, Russia's largest private media holding, cooperates with several media giants from China. Xinhua News Agency is now exchanging information, photos and videos with Izvestia News Agency. In May of this year, NMG and the Media Corporation of China signed an agreement in the presence of the leaders, and we are also shooting a movie together. This is the only case so far in modern history. The joint Russian-Chinese film, created with the participation of the National Media Group, was released both in our country and in China. The success has ensured the continuation, and now — including on the sidelines of the forum in Beijing — they are discussing a new project, Black Silk.
And Chinese children watch Russian cartoons. The cartoon "Three Cats" in China is called "The Mihao Family." It's like cats saying "nihao," but in their own way. The popularity is huge, the audience is constantly growing.
"This series has gained more than 5.5 billion views in China. Of course, we couldn't help but come to a logical decision. We are announcing today that we will produce a special series for Chinese viewers: not only for Chinese viewers, but also a special Chinese series," Balanova added.
CTC Animation, which is part of NMG Holding, is preparing a 20-minute special with a distributor from China and Chinese consultants.
Does cooperation between countries produce results? What a one! Russian Russian is a new gastronomic trend: the Chinese want to eat Russian in Russian.
"There is a different understanding of Russian traditions, for example, on the question of what to do with clothes. We were offered to roll it up and put it in such a basket. This is not a Chinese rule at all — it's just the way it's supposed to be in this institution," the journalist said.
There's a "granny" and a matryoshka doll. Reproductions of paintings by Russian artists are hung on the walls and ceiling, and the place is packed with Chinese people who know the beauty of using a fork — even bread is eaten this way.
Russian Russian cuisine is not an institution for Russians in Beijing — it is Russian cuisine for Chinese people who want to try something unusual. Judging by the menu, Russians love meat very much, in all kinds, there is a lot of meat, as well as shrimp, snails on fire, octopus in a juicy sauce with black pepper. But there are, of course, traditional Russian dishes here," the correspondent added.
We scroll through "Chicken Salaam", "Kremlin Dome", "Russian steam" and "Salmon caviar salad", and order our "Moscow Borscht".
"The first thing that catches your eye even more than the serving size is the amount of sour cream. There is very, very, very little of it in borscht, literally a drop," the journalist clarified.
But this dish is not often ordered. The waiters say they often ask for another, as they believe here, Russian dish — shish kebab.
The difference is in perception, but the general approach. So all this does not interfere with the overall work. Several dozen representatives of the Russian and Chinese press spent the whole day talking at sessions and in negotiations. The results in both Russia and China will soon be visible to absolutely everyone.
On November 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted in the framework of the United Russia—Chinese Communist Party dialogue that Russian-Chinese cooperation in international issues contributes to building a more just world order. The Russian leader also noted the dynamic development of relations between the two countries in the spirit of comprehensive strategic partnership. According to Putin, Russia and China are conducting fruitful cooperation in various fields.
Prior to that, on November 4, it was reported that Russia and China had agreed to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) associations. In addition, the countries agreed to develop transport links between their countries, in particular, the parties intend to encourage the expansion of flights based on market principles, as well as to work together on the construction of the Russia–Mongolia–China economic corridor.
