The Russian Security Council has prepared new measures to combat organized crime

At a meeting of the interdepartmental commission of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on public security, a set of additional measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of the fight against organized crime, including those using modern technologies, was developed. This was announced on December 16 by the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

In particular, tasks were set to improve interdepartmental cooperation in combating crimes committed by organized groups and criminal communities, and to prevent and suppress the involvement of minors in criminal formations.

"The importance of introducing innovations in criminal and criminal procedure legislation was noted, providing for the criminalization of certain acts using digital technologies and regulating issues of cryptocurrency turnover," the statement said.

It was also instructed to strengthen measures to counteract the dissemination of both prohibited information on the Internet and information that contributes to the illegal activities of offenders. Attention was drawn to the need to strengthen international cooperation in combating high-tech crimes.

"Concrete solutions have been developed to improve the prevention of illegal activities of leaders and participants of criminal groups in prison.In order to increase the effectiveness of the activities under consideration, other additional organizational and legal measures are planned," the press service of the Security Council said.
