The best grain harvest in 30 years has been harvested in Transbaikalia

A record harvest of grain crops was harvested in Transbaikalia in 2025. Agrarians have shown the best results in the last 30 years, according to the official Internet portal of the region on Tuesday, December 16.

Despite the natural disasters, the gross harvest of agricultural enterprises and farms amounted to 120.3 thousand tons. This is 24% more than a year earlier.

The average yield in the region was 18.2 hundredweight per hectare, which is 34% more than in 2024. In some farms, it was possible to collect from 40 to 60 quintals per hectare.

High grain harvest was achieved through the use of modern agricultural technologies and the introduction of two new varieties of wheat and one variety of oats.

According to ChitaMedia news agency, the new seeds were purchased as part of the national project "Technological food security".

The harvesting campaign in the fields of the Trans-Baikal Territory ended at the end of November. The area of crops amounted to 70 thousand hectares, more than 72% of which were insured.
