Digitalization and the spread of AI are reshaping the labor market faster than previous technological cycles. The changes will affect not only employment, but also the very understanding of professional value, responsibility and solidarity. Nikolay Turubar, Articul's development director, technology expert and chairman of the RAEC Artificial Intelligence cluster, told Izvestia on December 17.

As the specialist notes, routine tasks primarily fall under automation. Research shows that AI is capable of performing up to 85% of routine operations in office and analytical professions. In the next 5-10 years, changes will affect accounting, logistics, manufacturing, and some of the tasks of novice IT specialists. At the same time, professions based on empathy, creativity, and physical presence remain the most stable — these are nurses, supervisors, and psychologists.

"The development of AI will help create about 170 million new jobs by 2030, primarily in technology and research fields. At the same time, about 22% of existing professions and vacancies will be eliminated, mainly in routine and administrative roles," the expert said.

In Russia, the introduction of AI reduces the number of staff in small and large businesses, while companies in the middle segment, on the contrary, demonstrate growth due to technological restructuring. The employment structure is changing, but the market is coming to a balance. Hybrid models where humans and AI work together are increasingly in demand.

According to the expert, the perception of work itself is changing at the same time: it is becoming a space for creativity and strategic thinking. Empathy, leadership, and communication skills are increasingly valued. Against this background, new professions are emerging — robot maintenance engineers, AI ethicists, drone operators, and VR content creators.

Digitalization also affects professional solidarity. AI increases corporate responsibility requirements, but the growth of remote employment can weaken the sense of community. Companies respond with wellness programs, corporate volunteerism, and the expansion of inclusive digital environments. In hybrid teams, AI takes over the routine, and humans take over the emotional and moral part of the work.

In the context of automation, the importance of the "human" value of work increases — tasks that require emotions, judgment and creativity. The introduction of a basic income as a temporary measure to support workers during the transition period is being discussed in different countries.

"The concept of stability is also being transformed: the share of freelancing and short-term projects is growing. Flexibility and the ability to combine different competencies become the most important qualities. To adapt, it is important for people to master AI tools and develop soft skills, and for organizations to implement retraining programs and build ethical digitalization strategies. This approach will be a key advantage in the new economy," the expert concluded.

In September, I will choose from the financial marketplace survey.<url>" it turned out that parents between the ages of 30 and 40 have increased spending on additional classes for children related to neural networks and programming. The study involved 3,000 Russians aged 18 to 50 years. According to the survey results, the average monthly expenses for neural network and children's programming clubs increased by more than a third, from 4.2 thousand rubles in 2024 to 5.7 thousand rubles in 2025.
