- Manturov pointed to the prospects of creating a nuclear-powered lunar station.
The creation of a lunar station powered by a nuclear power plant will open up new prospects for exploring deep space. This was announced on December 16 by Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, as part of the 100 Projects for the Future of Russia program at the Rossiya National Center.
"Breakthroughs in deep space exploration are linked to the project to create a lunar station at a nuclear power plant. I know that this innovation will be discussed in detail here today," he said.
Manturov also noted the strategic importance of the Russian space station, which will provide Russia with leadership in manned space exploration.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation focused on the need to increase the production of various types of satellites and the development of a rocket with a returnable first stage, which will help significantly reduce the cost of launching vehicles into orbit.
On December 5, Manturov announced that the Russian Space Station (ROS) would be placed in an orbit with an inclination of 51.6 degrees. According to him, India is also thinking about this angle of inclination for its station, which opens up prospects for parallel cooperation between the two states in space.
