The court approved the verdict of the former director of the Patriot Park Akhmedov
The Moscow Regional Court has rejected an appeal against the verdict of Vyacheslav Akhmedov, the former director of Patriot Park, in a case of large-scale fraud and forgery. This was reported on December 16 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
"For me, a man over the age of 65, imprisonment for five years is a severe punishment," said the former head of the park.
The court decided to reduce the amount of material damage to be recovered from Akhmedov in favor of the Ministry of Defense to 17 million, and also reduce the amount of recovery in favor of Patriot Park to 6 million rubles.
On August 15, the Odintsovo City Court sentenced Akhmedov to five years in a general regime penal colony with a fine of 300 thousand rubles. The court also ordered him to collect 25 million rubles in damages. Akhmedov pleaded guilty in full, repented of his actions and entered into a pre-trial agreement.
According to the investigation, in the period from 2022 to 2024, Akhmedov, former Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Popov and former deputy head of the Department of Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Vladimir Shesterov entered false information into the documentation about allegedly completed construction work in the park, as a result of which more than 25 million rubles were stolen.
In particular, the "dead souls", who were listed as workers in Patriot Park, were engaged in the construction of a two-story house, a bathhouse and a guest house at the cottage of Popov's son, were engaged in finishing work and planted shrubs. The site itself, according to forged documents, was registered as part of the park.
