The head of AVTOVAZ Sokolov announced a reduction in prices for Lada cars in 2025

Prices for Lada models in 2025 decreased by 5%, despite inflation. Maxim Sokolov, the head of AvtoVAZ, said this in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel on December 16.

According to him, the reason for the decrease in cost was "aggressive dumping" by Chinese brands, which gave significant discounts on their models.

"Discounts reached not even 500 thousand rubles, but up to a million rubles for some cars, especially those that were released back in 2023," Sokolov said.

He said that AvtoVAZ, in turn, adjusted its policy and the average price of Lada cars in 2025 decreased by 5%.

On December 5, Avito Auto experts reported that the average price of new domestic cars in the fall of 2025 was almost 1.79 million rubles. According to analysts, demand for new domestic cars on the platform increased by 2% in September — November 2025 compared to last fall. The most striking dynamics of audience growth was recorded for Xcite brand models (2.5 times) and Lada (+10.2%). During the year, the share of domestic cars on sale at the site increased from 24.5% to 36.9%.
