Unknown details of the filming of a new film about the adventures of Pinocchio were revealed by its creators. Two weeks before the premiere, they gave a big press conference, and in an exclusive interview with Izvestia on December 16, they told several more secrets of the film, created with the participation of the National Media Group (NMG).

A more appropriate date for the release of the new "Pinocchio" could not have been thought of.

"This year it is 90 years since the little wooden man Pinocchio appeared on paper, this year the legendary Soviet and Russian composer Alexei Lvovich Rybnikov turned 80 years old. And this year, that is, on New Year's Eve, 50 years ago, viewers saw the movie Pinocchio," said producer, director, screenwriter, actor Fyodor Bondarchuk.

At the press conference, Fyodor Bondarchuk answers questions both as a producer and as a performer of the role of Karabas-Barabas, next to Alexander Petrov, who played Basilio. The filmmakers gave exclusive interviews especially for Izvestia.

"To what extent do we see more of Alexander Petrov on the screen, and to what extent Basilio?" asked Izvestia film critic Nikolai Nikulin.

"The bigger the scale of the film, the bigger the responsibility, the more I start bullying. It doesn't matter how my hair lies, if I have glasses like this, it means it's normal for the frame," Petrov replied.

For the authors of the picture, it was fundamentally important to preserve the spirit of a classic fairy tale, but at the same time use the latest technologies and special effects. Pinocchio, for example, is a fully computer-generated character, and actress Vita Kornienko was responsible for his facial expressions and movements.

"The sensors are inside, and there are already some large transmitters that transmit to computer equipment, they are outside, and the cameras are outside. Therefore, when it was raining or it could snow, they put shoe covers on my head so that nothing would get wet," explained Kornienko.

Pinocchio meets a variety of heroes on his way and illuminates their lives with light, even the life of the evil Karabas-Barabas. The performer of his role, Fedor Bondarchuk, told how difficult it was to play in scenes with Vita Kornienko.

"Her whole face was covered with sensors, her whole body was also covered with sensors, even in this suit I could see her eyes," Bondarchuk said.

An entire Italian city was built for the film, according to the idea of director Igor Voloshin. The Izvestia film crew was one of the first to visit the site.

"It's +10 degrees outside, which means it's not hot at all, but it feels like you're in sunny Italy, somewhere in the back streets you can hear the voices of street theater actors, fresh bread is being sold on the corner of the square, and right in front of us is the school where the main character, Pinocchio, should go," — noted the film critic.

"You arrive and you seem to immediately switch to magical vibrations. I walked around this city every day, every filming day," admitted actress Anastasia Talyzina.

"Pinocchio" is a story about a wooden boy who was not accepted in modern society, but Malvina, Pierrot and Harlequin saw in him a real person, and this is perhaps the most important thought of the film.

On December 14, the film "Pinocchio" directed by Igor Voloshin took the second place in the rating of the most anticipated projects by users on the Kinopoisk platform. The rating was based on the votes of users who add paintings to their "I will watch" list. It was indicated that "Pinocchio" was on the list of 225 thousand people.
