The new launch pad for Soyuz rockets at Baikonur, damaged on November 27, will be ready for launch at the end of February 2026. This was announced on December 16 by Dmitry Baranov, Deputy General Director of the Roscosmos State Corporation for rocket projects.

"Between December 1 and today, about 18 heavy—duty vehicles have arrived at the complex, including those with oversized cabin parts," he said in a video posted on the Roscosmos Telegram channel.

At the moment, the necessary elements and equipment have been delivered to the cosmodrome to restore the launch pad maintenance cabin. It is specified that the work is carried out in two shifts, involving 130 employees.

According to Baranov, the first launch will be carried out at the end of winter 2026. It is noted that work has now begun on priming and painting the cabin parts. As soon as they are ready, they will be transported to the launch pad.

Earlier, on November 27, it was reported that the Soyuz-2.1A rocket was launched in normal mode. It was clarified that then the device successfully docked to the International Space Station (ISS). After an inspection of the launch pad at Baikonur, damage was found to some elements of the launch pad.
