Air defense systems destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flying to Moscow. This was announced on December 16 by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

"The Defense Ministry's air defenses shot down a drone flying towards Moscow," he said in a statement on Twitter.

Sobyanin clarified that specialists are working at the crash site of the UAV wreckage.
