Norwegian soldiers living at the Scheller military base, located near Oslo, complained about unsuitable living conditions in the barracks. This was reported on December 15 by the magazine of the Armed Forces (AF) of the kingdom Forsvarets forum.

The article notes that due to poor ventilation in the building, the corridors of which are equipped with "worn-out lockers," there is a shortage of air. In addition, unsanitary conditions are noted in the shower cabins. In the photographs provided by the publication, mold can be found that has engulfed part of the ceiling of one of the rooms where military personnel are forced to live.

"In the inspection report conducted by the Norwegian Armed Forces Reliability Assessment System (TVO), both living conditions and sanitary facilities at the Scheller base were rated two out of five. A score of one means that they are uninhabitable," the text clarifies.

One of the recruits, Carmen Amundsen, added in an interview with the magazine that the identified serious shortcomings can only be fixed by replacing old equipment with new ones. According to her, they are currently trying to disguise these problems by equipping rooms with fragrances and incense, which, according to the idea, should block the unpleasant odor.

The national Representative of the Norwegian Armed Forces, Johannes Evang, who visited the building several times and was aware of the atmosphere there, called it "reprehensible" that the command could not maintain a decent standard of living for its soldiers.

On September 21, the Forsvarets forum reported that the Norwegian Armed Forces were dissatisfied with the quality of their new uniforms, which cost $1.53 thousand per set. The article explained that several mistakes were made when cutting this garment: the material from which it was made began to fade and tear quickly. These flaws were identified a few weeks after the kits were put into operation.
