Negotiations between the United States and Ukraine and the leaders of European states on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict are "going well." This was announced on December 15 by the American leader Donald Trump.

"We had a long discussion, and things seem to be going well, but we've been saying this for a long time. And I had a long conversation with [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky," he said during a conversation with reporters at the White House.

In addition, the US president added that he had held "very good" talks with the heads of European states.

The President of the United States said earlier in the day that the United States and Europe are working on security guarantees for Ukraine, and Europe will be "a big part of this."

Negotiations between representatives of the United States and Ukraine ended in Germany on December 15. They lasted two hours. The day before, the next stage of negotiations between the American and Ukrainian delegations took place in Berlin. US Special Envoy Steven Witkoff said at the time that significant progress had been made during negotiations with the Ukrainian delegation.

At the same time, The Wall Street Journal reported that the meeting between the President of Ukraine and Witkoff was difficult. According to the newspaper, the United States insists on quick solutions to resolve the conflict. However, Zelensky and the European Union (EU) point to the remaining serious differences in the peace plan that need to be resolved.
