An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred in the Pacific Ocean near the coast of Kamchatka. This was announced on December 15 on the website of the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The epicenter of the tremors was located 224 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. They occurred at a depth of 54 km.

There was no information about casualties or damage on the mainland.

It was noted that there were no tremors from the phenomenon in populated areas.
