The driver of a GAZ car killed a pensioner in Shchelkovo
A GAZ car hit an elderly man on the road in the Shchelkovo urban district. This was reported in the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Moscow region on Monday, December 15.
The ministry clarified that the accident occurred in the evening on the Sverdlovsky —M7 Volga highway.
"According to preliminary information, the male driver, driving a GAZ car, hit a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway outside the pedestrian crossing area. As a result of the accident, a 65-year—old pedestrian was killed," the press service told the Moscow City News agency.
The State traffic Inspectorate is investigating the circumstances of the incident.
On December 11, a passenger car hit two pedestrians in the northeast of Moscow. The injured were hospitalized.
