Hair loss in women is much less common than in men, but the causes of alopecia are similar. Stanislav Ionov, Professor of the Department of Therapy at the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education, told about this on Monday, December 15.

According to the doctor, by the age of 45-50, women have decreased levels of the male hormone testosterone, as well as dihydrotestosterone, which directly affects hair growth. As a rule, complete baldness does not occur, but the hair in the forehead and nape area becomes much less frequent.

He added that in addition to hormonal causes, hair loss in women may be due to a lack of vitamins, as well as minerals and trace elements such as manganese, fluorine and zinc.

"External factors also play a significant role: seborrhea, impaired blood supply to the scalp due to the frequent use of tight elastic bands and curlers, exposure to high temperatures during styling, chemicals during curling, coloring and toning of hair," Ionov said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

The expert clarified that in women, a decrease in testosterone production may also be the result of chronic bacterial, viral or fungal infections. Careful care, avoiding stressful influences and maintaining a normal metabolism help to slow down the process of hair loss, he concluded.

Maria Kyzymko, a dermatovenerologist, cosmetologist, and trichologist at the Be Healthy clinic on Sretenka, told Izvestia on December 12 that shopping in thrift stores is a definite health risk.

According to the expert, buyers are at risk of contracting various infections of the skin, hair and nails. Fungal infections, including mycoses of the feet and nails, parasitic diseases, allergic reactions caused by dust, mold, and chemicals are most often dangerous. Bacterial infections are possible, especially if the skin is damaged.

Stylist Galina Totorina shared her winter hair care recommendations on December 8. She said that styling can be quickly fixed with dry shampoo and a few invisibles. 360.ru .

In turn, Vera Serezhina, an expert at the LabQuest medical company, told RIAMO that nuts and dried fruits should be added to the diet in winter, as they contain vitamins, trace elements and vegetable oils.

She also stressed that meat products must be in the diet, and the classic traditional jelly is a concentrate of collagen, vitamins and growth factors, which, with the addition of horseradish or mustard, help strengthen the immune system and preserve the beauty of skin, nails and hair.
