In Ireland, the discussion about a possible revision of the country's neutral status and hypothetical accession to NATO has intensified again. The reason was reports of drones that were allegedly detected in Irish airspace. This was announced on December 15 by the Euractiv portal.

"[Against this background,] a discussion broke out about Ireland's neutrality and the expediency of joining NATO. According to polls, about a third of Irish people support this idea, and another third are undecided," the article says.

At the same time, the opponents of Euro-Atlantic integration are representatives of the left-wing Sinn Fein party. The political force insists on building stable relations with Russia.
